CPU Halt Switch Setting
Purpose/Scope
This procedure explains how to verify or set the CPU HALT
switch setting on the CPU motherboard. Before putting the
auxiliary terminal into service, check the CPU HALT switch
setting on the CPU motherboard to make certain it is correct.
Use the CPU HALT button if the auxiliary terminal does not
respond.
NOTE: Pressing the HALT button on the CPU halts the CPU and the screen
displays the

prompt. This requires typing B and from the engi-
neering or operator keyboard in order to boot the system into the main window.
A system boot takes approximately ten minutes.

Procedure

1. Refer to the documentation supplied with the CPU to gain
access to the CPU motherboard.

2. If SW-4 on the CPU motherboard is set to OFF, the reset
button on the front of the CPU becomes a HALT button. Refer
to Figure
PR11-1 and check or set switch SW-4 as shown.

3. Refer to the documentation supplied with the CPU and
close the CPU case.
