Operation
Refuelling
• Before releasing pipe or hose connections,
the cylinder valves and main shut-off valves
must be closed.
• The connecting nuts on the cylinders must
only be released slowly and, at first, only
very slightly; otherwise, the gas remaining
in the line will spurt out.
• The lines and related equipment for gas in
the liquid phase and LPG containers must
not be exposed to an impermissible level of
heat.
• Removable LPG containers (LPG cylin-
ders) must be positioned on the truck such
that they are lying with the collar opening
facing downwards.
• Upon installation and removal, the gas
outlet connection of the cylinder valve must
be sealed with a lock nut that has been
securely tightened using a wrench.
• Before the LPG cylinders are connected,
the pipe connections must be checked to
ensure that they are in good condition.
• After removal, the cylinder cap must imme-
diately be screwed onto the cylinders fitted
with a lock nut.
• The valves must be opened slowly.
• Leaking gas cylinders must not be reused.
Taking all precautions into account, leaking
gas cylinders must immediately be emptied
outside by blowing and marked as leaking.
• If damaged gas cylinders are supplied, the
provider or a representative (service-station
attendant etc.) must be immediately notified
of the damage present, where possible in
writing.
• Even if no accident occurs as a result, ex-
plosions involving gas cylinders or LPG sys-
tems must be immediately reported to the
employers' liability insurance association
and the trade supervision agency responsi-
ble (applies to Germany). Damaged parts
must be stored carefully until the conclusion
of the investigation. Observe the national
regulations in the relevant country!
• Removable LPG containers may only
be changed in storage rooms if there is
no possibility of a hazardous explosive
atmosphere being produced.
