Battery maintenance
WARNING
Electrolyte (battery acid) is poisonous and corro-
sive on contact. For newly charged batteries in
particular, be aware of the risk of explosion in the
gassing area.
When handling battery acid, the specified safety
measures must be observed without fail.
The battery is an energy source and must
therefore be handled carefully! - Therefore:
• Keep the battery clean and dry.
• Charge regularly and check the electrolyte
level.
• Check to make sure the cable connections
and battery female connector are in perfect
condition.
• Provide corrosion protection with acid-free
battery grease.
In addition for batteries with liquid electrolyte:
• Check the electrolyte level regularly.
• Overflowing electrolyte must be siphoned
off from the battery tray using a siphon.
NOTE
Gel batteries are subject to special char-
ging/maintenance/handling instructions. The
guidelines from the respective manufacturer
must be observed.
To protect the battery from deep discharge, a
discharge indicator with a shutdown function
for the main lift is installed as standard.
CAUTION
If the battery male connector is disconnected while
the consumer is switched on, the contacts can burn.
Only connect and disconnect the battery male
connector when the key switch is turned off.
