Checklist before starting work
Checklist before starting work
Before starting work, the driver must make
sure that the truck is in a safe operating
condition. The driver of this truck must have
a valid driver’s licence. The corresponding
national guidelines must be observed.
If defects that could influence operational and
road safety are determined during the daily
pre-shift-checks, measures must be taken
immediately to ensure that proper repairs
are carried out. It is prohibited to continue
operation of the truck until the repairs have
been made.
WARNING
Truck operation is only permissible if doors and
flaps are closed and the covers are in place.
Brake assemblies function check
• Check the parking brake: If the parking
brake is activated, it must not be possible to
slide the truck.
• Check the service brake: Activate the
generator brake by actuating the brake
pedal.
• Check the generator brake by taking your
foot off the accelerator pedal when at full
speed.
• Check the reverse brake: Switch the drive
direction during travel. The braking and
subsequent acceleration processes must
be gentle and without jerking.
Steering function check
• The steering must be continuous and move
freely.
• The steering wheel position must be ad-
justed to suit the individual requirements of
the operator.
• The clamping must safely clamp the vertical
and horizontal adjustment of the steering
wheel module.
Checking the operating devices
• Check that the push button, handles and
operating levers are in perfect condition.
• The operating levers and push buttons must
return independently to the neutral position.
• The height of the pedal plate must be
adjusted to suit the individual requirements
of the operator.
• Check that all operating devices are in
perfect condition and function correctly.
Checking the key switch
• It must be possible to withdraw the key.
• When the key is in the O-position and when
it is removed, it must not be possible to
operate the truck.
• With electronic access control: If the means
of access has been removed, it must not be
possible to operate the truck.
Checking the emergency stop switch
• If the emergency stop switch is actuated,
movement must not be possible.
• If the emergency stop switch is actuated,
the display is retained.
Checking the load-carrying equipment,
e.g. forks
• The forks must not have cracks.
• The forks must not be bent.
• The fork frame must not be bent.
Checking the wind deflector cab*
• Visually check all elements of the wind
deflector cab.
• The windows should be clean and free from
scratches.
