When the safety sides are raised on beds with an electric
adjustment facility, the back and thigh rests must always be locked
on the handset:
o
Attach the handset out of reach (e.g. at the foot end of the bed),
or
o
Lock the handset from the control box (refer to Chapter 4.2.4).
Otherwise there is a danger of limbs being crushed or trapped
between the safety sides if the patient inadvertently activates the
handset. The effectiveness of the safety sides can also be
reduced if any of the mattress base sections are raised to a high
level.
Observe the maximum admissible mattress height.
