4.2.4.10 Sitting Position
This bed position is ideal for bringing the patient into a comfortable sitting position
for reading or watching television.
The order of adjustments required, and the position itself, are preset in the factory:
1. Mattress base moves reverse-Trendelenburg position (restricted to
approx. 12°).
2. The backrest and thigh rest move simultaneously into position after
the mattress base reaches a horizontal position.
The sitting position can be reprogrammed to adjust the mattress base height and
the tilting angle. The backrest and thigh rest always rise when the button is
pressed. Please refer to the end of this chapter for further information. This
function can only be activated when all functions have been enabled.
4.2.4.11 Normal Position
The normal position is ideal for returning the bed to a suitable position for working
and transporting the bed after completing various adjustments to the rests and
mattress base.
The adjustment sequence and the position are preset:
1. Backrest and thigh rest horizontal, and
2. Mattress base horizontal and at a height of approx. 60 cm.
The normal setting can be reprogrammed. The backrest and thigh rest always
move to a horizontal position when the button is pressed.

This function can only be activated when all other functions have been enabled.
4.2.4.12 Overwriting the Factory Default Settings
Applies to the following memory buttons
Sitting position , normal setting and sleep position on
patient handset.
A new position can be programmed at any time. Only the mattress base height
and tilting angle are saved.
For safety reasons, the only tilted position that can be saved is the reverse-
Trendelenburg position.
The positions of the backrest and thigh rest are not saved and remain
unchanged.
1. Set the desired new position for the bed.
2. Press the memory button [M] briefly three times and then
immediately press only the desired memory button.
3. As soon as the new position has been saved, a short acoustic signal
sounds to confirm the change.
