FEATURES OF THE SYSTEM BUILD

Using the tripod, you can align the interferometer furthermore. Fig. 12 shows the different
handles and knobs for fine and coarse adjustment.

Here too, be sure to center
the fine adjusting before
alignment. Fine adjustment
follows rough adjustment.

Procedure for vertical alignment

Set approx. height by adjusting legs

Use the handle on the tripod's mounting adapter

(see fig. 12) and fasten with the lock.

Use the fine adjust on the mounting adapter for the

interferometer (fig. 12).  

Procedure for horizontal alignment

Move tripod horizontally to the reference axis

Use the fine adjust on the interferometer's

mounting adapter (fig. 12).

Procedure for tilt alignment

Manually arrange the angle of the pivot (tilt coarse pivot in fig. 12) on the mounting and
 fasten

Fine tune with screws and knob on the interferometer's slide if need be (fig. 11).

Using the tripod and adapters makes alignment easier. Without it, possibilities remain limited
and virtually no fine adjustment can be performed.
