False Chimney Breast
There must be a clearance of 50mm between the fireplace body and any stud
work.
Once the fire is in place with the gas supply into the fire chamber and the flue
pipe fitted a false chimney breast can be fitted around the fireplace to complete
the cosmetic look of the fire.
To increase the efficiency of the fireplace and maximise the heat generated by
the fire additional slots should be fitted at the base and top of the false
chimney breast to extract the heat generated by the fireplace and flue pipe and
return it to the room. Cold air is drawn in at the base, warmed in the cavity
and expelled a ceiling level.
