Chapter 7: Pairing and Connecting a Bluetooth Headset
This section shows you how to pair and connect your Bluetooth headset.
Note: Bluetooth compatibility
Your 84-Series handset has been tested for compatibility with Bluetooth v2.1 headsets. However, Spectralink does
not recommend using your headset while the 2.4 GHz band is enabled. In this case, the Bluetooth and WLAN
network with both use the same 2.4GHz frequency range. Bluetooth technology and 802.11b/g/n technology are
not compatible. Bluetooth device behavior may also vary slightly between phone models. The following instructions
are intended as a guide, and may not specifically apply to your Bluetooth device. You can usually find instructions
on the Bluetooth headset manufacturer’s Web site.
User Tip: Pairing a Bluetooth device
To avoid conflicts with other devices, pair your Bluetooth device in an area that is free of other Bluetooth activity.
Caution: Out of range conditions
If the Bluetooth headset moves out of range of the handset and loses its connection, it may beep a warning. When
it moves back into range, the Bluetooth headset may or may not reconnect with the handset. This behavior varies
with Bluetooth headset model.
