Figure 16 shows the intensity measured for a kinetic energy of 40 eV as a function of pass
energy for the CCD detector and the total intensity channel of the FERRUM detector. The
active area of the CCD detector was set to 38.48 mm2, so that it is equal to the area of the 7
mm diameter entrance of the spin detector. For a pass energy, E
p
, of 20 eV, the transmission
of the spin detector is close to 60 %. Entrance slit 3 (1 mm curved slit) was used.
