Erasing / Formatting Media

Before recording to CF or SD media, cards must be formatted by the 688.

To format media:

1.  Press the MENU button.

2.  Turn and press the Headphone encoder to select FILE STORAGE.
3.  Do either of the following: 

X

Select Erase/Format CF to reformat a CompactFlash card.

X

Select Erase/Format SD to reformat an SD, SDHC, or SDXC card.

4.  Press the Headphone encoder to begin the formatting process.

Formatting media will erase all data on the card.

5.  Follow the message(s) that appear on screen and press the Headphone en-

coder to continue. 

6.  Press the METERS button to return to the Main screen.

Cards with a capacity of 32 GB or less will be formatted with the FAT32 

fi

 le sys-

tem. Cards with a capacity greater than 32 GB will be formatted with the exFAT 

fi

 le system.

The exFAT 

fi

 le system is not compatible with Windows XP or Mac OS X 10.6.4 or 

lower.
