9. 6. Hoist Unit Troubleshooting Check List
(1) Set the AUTO/MANU switch inside the relay box of the hoist unit to MANU.
Note: Make a note concerning the operation of the hoist unit in a standalone condition (manual mode).
If there is no problem concerning manual operation, and the switch is operated from the processor (the
AUTO/MANU switch is set to AUTO), check the cable (CB560) and the processor.
(2) Hoisting operation

Remedy, other items
A) The host unit does
not move when the UP
or DOWN switch is
pressed.
1. Is power being supplied?
Single phase 100 VAC: Check the LEDs on
the board.
3-phase 220 VAC: Check at the terminal
block.
Switch ON the power.
2.Does the hoisting DC relay on the board
function.
3. Check the 3-phase 220VAC wiring.
Swap over any two wires.
4. Does the limit switch on the manual handle
box function (go ON)?
Fixed screw adjustment
5.Does the thermal relay operate?
Refer to item C).
6
.
Is the upper limit (or lower limit) limit switch
malfunctioning? (Does it make a noise when
pressed by hand?)
Adjust the limit switch.
B) The electromagnetic
switch functions but the
hoist
unit
does
not
move.
1. Is the motor wiring (external wiring)
broken?
2. Is the surface temperature of the motor low
enough to touch the motor by hand (50
C or
less)?
If the motor is too hot to touch,
refer to item C).
C) The hoist unit moves
slightly (or does not
move), and the thermal
relay operates.
1. Does the set value of the thermal relay
match the motor standard? (Rated current on
the nameplate of the motor)
Note: Do not set the current to a value higher
than the rated current of the motor. This may
result in burnout of the motor.
2. Is there rust in the drive section (Sprocket,
chain, feed screw), or is there marked
bending of these parts? Does the motor
operate when it is in a standalone condition
(with the chain removed)?
3. Does the hoist operate by means of the
manual handle (when the boat is moored)?
Moves but is very sluggish→
Does not move at all→
Slightly slacken the gland, and
then move it once again.
It is conceivable that the pipe
may be bent (due to a marine
accident).
