9. 5. Outline of Connecting the 3-phase Hoisting Power Supply

a)
Carry out all wiring according to the wiring diagram. (Do not supply power at this stage.)
b) Move the hoist to a point mid-
way along its stroke, according to “Outline of Operation of
Manu
al Handle.”
c)
Set the MANU/AUTO toggle switch in the relay box to “MANU.”
d) Switch ON the power.
e) Perform a hoisting operation by means of the MANU switch (UP, DOWN) on the relay
box.
First, raise the hoist about 10 cm from the condition of b) (Continue to press the UP
switch) while simultaneously operating the upper limit switch by hand, and confirm that
the hoist stops at the upper limit.
Likewise, carry out a lowering operation while simultaneously operating the lower limit
switch at the lower limit, and confirm that the hoist stops at the lower limit.
If operation of the hoist is normal, the three phases are wired correctly.
f) In step e), if the hoist does not move up or down when the UP and DOWN switches are
pressed, check the 3-phase power supply.
(Swap over any two wires of the three phases, and then carry out step e) once again.)
h) Once the above work has been completed, raise the hoist to the upper limit, and set the
MANU and AUTO toggle switches to AUTO.
[Danger]
The hoist unit has a reverse phase connection prevention relay. Consequently, unless all phases (R,
S, T) of the 3-phase power supply are connected correctly, the hoist motor will not operate. (This is to
prevent reverse phase connection.)
Check whether it is correct connection by the following procedures.
The thrust propulsion force for the hoist part is approx. 450 kg (calculated value). Also, the hoist is
installed in a confined space, so be very careful when carrying out work on it.
