Using the Key

RB6741-Z Touchscreen Security System Installation Manual 

Touchscreen will not react in any way, but if you check the History tab on the Security 
widget, you are able to see that an alarm was sent. Additionally, Contact persons will receive 
an email and SMS notifications if they are configured to do so. 

Changing the Batteries in the Key Fob 

To replace the batteries in the key fob SMCKF01-Z: 

1.  Holding the key fob in one hand, carefully insert the tip of a 

flat-head screwdriver into the casing seam. 

 

2.  Push lightly and twist the screwdriver handle. 

 

3.  Find the supplied CR2032 3-volt lithium battery. 

 

4.  Remove the circuit board and rubber button pad from the key fob casing. 

5.  Insert the battery in the battery slot positive side away from the circuit board.  

6.  Replace the circuit board in the key fob casing. 

Resetting the Key Fob to Factory Default 

When a key fob is originally removed from its packaging, it is already in factory default 
mode. When you install the battery as described in the previous operation, it immediately 
begins to search for a Touchscreen with which it can pair.  

To reset a key fob that has already been added to a Touchscreen and place it in Search 
mode, delete it as described on page 141.
