1.5. Quick Response— Alarm Silence
After you see a FIRE alarm, find the cause of the alarm. Then respond in accordance with your facility’s emergency
response guidelines. Finally, SILENCE the signalling appliances, as described below.

Insert key into keyswitch. Turn to the Enable
position (12 o”clock position) .
Allows access to touchpad functions.

ALARM SILENCE
1 Buzzer will change from constant to pulsing tone for
alarm; change from pulsing to off for trouble or supervisory alarm. alarm; change from pulsing to off for trouble or supervisory alarm.
2 Fire Zone red LED will light continuously.
3 Bells, horns, etc. (signalling appliances) will be silenced.
4 All alarm outputs will remain active.
5 Display will continue to display alarm information.

Fire alarm messages will be displayed first. Trouble conditions will
also be displayed, but only after the last fire event has been
viewed.
ACCEPT alarms. (See Section 1.4., page 7) (See Section 1.4., page 7 .)
After alarm cause has been found and
remedied, RESET the system. (See Section
1.6., page 9.)

NOTE: SILENCE ALARM only silences the notification appliances and does not reset the alarm outputs.
