6.4 PM and PSB TESTS
6.4.1 Preparation
1.
Exit system to Windows.
2.
Access the Windows NT Explorer.
3.
Double-click PM Test in the TransScan directory.
6.4.2 Serial Communication Test

Perform Preparation 6.4.1.
2.
Click PC2PM to check serial communication between
PM and computer.
3.
Click HELLO in the menu.
4.
On the screen, two response messages will appear (in
bold letters). If this does not occur, refer to
“Communication Error” in section 6.1.
5.
Select “View” and click Clear .
6.
Select “Single” and click Probe .
7.
Check that: A is selected in the “Interf” box/ small is
selected in the “Probe” box.
8.
Click Read to get the ID of the PSB.
9.
PSB ID =’03’ will appear in binary form ‘0011’ in the
lower Data box. (Two checks in the last digits)
10.
Click Cancel and repeat Step 5.
6.4.3 Check for the P.S.B: Socket (Port I.D.)
1.
Insert the address 001 in the b6-b4 box in the lower
control section and connect a probe to socket J1 in the
PSB.
2.
Click on the “Read” button; the address 0001 appears in
the data section (b7-b0).
3.
Move the probe to socket J2 and click on the “Read”
button; the address will be 0010.
4.
Move the probe to socket J3 and click on the “Read”
button; the address will be 0100.
5.
Clear the b6-b4 box. Do not clear to read.
