Specified constraints for constant turning over a long period
●
Constant speed 1200 rpm
A load torque of 220 Nm occurs due to the machining process.
Because machining takes several minutes, the necessary motor torque must be on or below
the S1 characteristic in the torque-speed diagram with field weakening. See the diagram
"Schematic description of the torque-speed curve" in Chapter "Explanations of the
characteristic curves (Page 145)".
●
Process torque M
P
= 220 Nm (at 1200 rpm)
●
Frictional torque M
r
= 60 Nm
●
Motor torque M
m
= 280 Nm
For turning, you will already find 2 suitable motors in the series with the smallest shaft height
in Table "Built-in torque motors: overview" and in the relevant torque-speed characteristic:
1FW6092-xxC05-2Exx: not suitable (continuous torque at 1200 rpm too low)
1FW6092-xxC05-4Fxx: not suitable (continuous torque at 1200 rpm)
1FW6092-xxC10-4Fxx: not suitable (continuous torque at 1200 rpm)
1FW6092-xxC10-8Fxx: suitable (continuous torque approx. 340 Nm at 1200 rpm)
1FW6092-xxC15-6Axx: not suitable (continuous torque at 1200 rpm)
1FW6092-xxC15-8Fxx: suitable (continuous torque at approx. 430 Nm at 1200 rpm)
Evaluation
Because both the positioning and the turning requirement must be met, the following two
motors are suitable:
●
1FW6092-xxC10-8Fxx
●
1FW6092-xxC15-8Fxx
Motor 1FW6092-xxC10-8Fxx only just meets the continuous torque requirement. Motor
1FW6092-xxC15-8Fxx has a sufficient margin of additional torque and is therefore more
suitable.
Basically, both motors are suitable for positioning and for constant turning over a long period.
During positioning, the motor reaches a torque that far exceeds its rated torque M
N
. Also, the
resulting power loss is much greater than the permissible continuous power loss. If position-
ing only takes a short time and the winding temperature remains below the shutdown limit,
this high load is permissible. See Section "Intermittent duty S3" in Chapter "Specification of
the duty cycle (Page 91)".
