Mains connection of the operating unit
6.2.1
External mains switch
If the mains switch of the operating unit ( → Fig. 18 ) is not visible and accessible in the
operational state:

Install a mains disconnector switch near the operating unit with which the mains supply
can be switched on and off.

Mark this mains switch clearly to prevent confusion.
6.2.2
Mains cable connection

Ensure that the supplied mains voltage corresponds to the information on the type
plate of the operating unit.

Connect the mains cable to the integrated connector on the rear of the operating unit
(
→ Fig. 18 ).

Connect the mains cable to the mains supply.

If the operating unit is installed in a 19" system, the mains switch is generally
not visible and cannot be accessed immediately. The European standard
EN 61010 stipulates that an external mains switch must be installed for
stationary devices which do not have an integrated mains switch.
CAUTION: Damage/malfunction caused by incorrect mains voltage
The operating unit is suitable for a mains voltage of either 230 V or 115 V. If
the mains voltage is too high, the EuroFID can be damaged and constitute a
hazard. If the mains voltage is too low, the function of the EuroFID is impaired.

Check which mains voltage is stated on the type plate.

Only run the EuroFID with this mains voltage.
