Autocorrection
Should an error occur in the data range of the positioner, the
self-monitoring function recognizes it and automatically corrects
it.
Recommended action Automatic

Fatal error
An error was detected in the data relevant for safety,
autocorrection is not possible. This may be due to EMC
disturbances.
The control valve moves to its fail-safe position.
Recommended action Reset over Code 36.
Re-initialize the positioner.
Hardware errors
(indicated on the display by the condensed status with the corresponding classification)

Determination of the measured value for the actuator has failed.
Conductive plastic element is defective.
The positioner continues to run in emergency mode, but should
be replaced as soon as possible.
The emergency mode on the display is indicated by a blinking
control symbol and 4 dashes instead of the position indication.
Note on the control:
If the measuring system has failed, the positioner is still in a reli-
able state. The positioner switches to emergency mode where the
position cannot be accurately controlled anymore. However, the
positioner continues operation according to its reference variable
signal so that the process remains in a safe state.
Recommended action Return the positioner to SAMSON AG for repair.

i/p converter
(y)
The circuit of the i/p converter has been interrupted.
Recommended action Cannot be remedied.
Return the positioner to SAMSON AG for repair.

A hardware error has occurred, the positioner moves to the
fail-safe position

Recommended action Confirm error and return to the automatic operating mode, or
perform a reset and re-initialize the device. If this is not success-
