Tender Keys
There are four general tender types available in S
AM
4POS,
Cash, Check, Food Stamp
and
Misc
. Each
Tender type has additional programming associated with that specific type of tender. Each tender key
description can be edited to further identify the specific tender.
Cash
Use CASH to finalize or tender cash sales. Change is computed when the amount of cash tendered is
greater than the amount of the sale.
Tenders keys setup with the tender type CASH can be used as a normal cash key or they can be setup
as quick tender keys such as $5 cash, $10 cash, or setup to automatically go to the next dollar amount.
Programming for cash type tender keys is broken down into sections.
GENERAL
HALO Amount –
High Amount Lock-Out
; This is the maximum amount accepted when this tender is
used. For example, as a store policy you may only accept currency denominations up to $50 bills. You
would set the HALO as 50.00.
TAX EXEMPT
Use this setting if the tender is to exempt the specified tax rate (1-10) when redeemed.
TENDER
Compulsory Amount Tender –
Check this option if you wish to enforce an amount to be entered
prior to pressing this key.
Do Not Allow Under-Tender –
When checked, only the amount of the sale or greater are accepted.
Need Manager for Under Tender –
If checked, the manager is needed to approve the transaction if
the amount entered is less than the sale amount.
DRAWER
Open Drawer –
This is option is selected by default, uncheck this option only if you do not want to
open the cash drawer when this tender is used.
CASH
Cash Type –
Select from
Normal
(transaction is finalized when used),
Quick Cash
(used for $5, $10,
$20 speed tender keys) set the tender amount in the HALO,
Next Dollar
(automatically finalizes using
the next dollar amount).
Coin Changer Port # -
Enter the port # where the coin dispenser is connected if a Coin dispenser is
used.
Check
Use Check Tender to finalize or tender sales paid for with a written check. Change is computed when
the amount of the check tendered is greater than the amount of the sale.
