MAINTENANCE
WARNING
The product should never be connected to a power
supply when you are assembling parts, cleaning,
performing maintenance, or when the product is not in
use. Disconnecting the product will prevent accidental
starting that could cause serious injury.
WARNING
When servicing, use only identical Ryobi replacement
parts. Use of any other parts may create a hazard or
cause product damage.
WARNING
Always remove the sanding belt from the product before
cleaning. Failure to do so could cause serious personal
injury.
Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to various types of commercial
solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use clean
cloths to remove dirt, carbon dust, etc.
WARNING
Do not at any time let brake
À
uids, gasoline, petroleum-
based products, penetrating oils, etc. come in contact
with plastic parts. They contain chemicals that can
damage, weaken or destroy plastic.
Electric tools used on
¿
berglass material, wallboard,
spackling compounds, or plaster are subject to accelerated
wear and possible premature failure because the
¿
berglass
chips and grindings are highly abrasive to bearings,
brushes and commutators. The manufacturer does not
recommend the use of the product for extended periods of
time on these types of materials.
After each use, remove the belt and dust collector if
¿
tted.
Clean the dust collector as shown in the illustrations in this
manual. Clean the tool thoroughly with a brush, dry cloth
and vacuum cleaner.
WARNING
Do not use compressed air to blow dust from the product
to prevent serious eye injury.
For greater safety and reliability, all repairs should be
performed by an authorised Ryobi service centre.
All of the bearings in this tool are lubricated with a suf
¿
cient
amount of high grade lubricant for the life of the unit
under normal operating conditions. Therefore, no further
lubrication is required.
ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION
Recycle raw materials instead of disposing
of as waste. The machine, accessories and
packaging should be sorted for environmental-
