If CAN-BUS cable has already been connected with DDC (procedure
"c"
described
below), be careful with 4-mm eyelet (or two eyelets) of CAN BUS cable shield: use
fastening screws close to CAN-BUS socket (bottom right) to fasten eyelet (or two
eyelets) as shown in Figure 17,on page 35.
DDC also consists of a buffer battery which, when power supply is cut off, can store
set values;
buffer battery lasts for about 7 years
and must be replaced
afterwards (contact Robur Authorised Technical Assistance Centre).
b. How to connect Direct Digital Controller (DDC) with RB100
Appliance and DDC communicate by CAN BUS network (Figure 15, on page 34).
CAN-BUS network consists of a set of elements (appliances or DDC) named nodes,
connected by a cable (CAN-BUS cable), with 3 DDCs maximum.
8 RB100 interfaces maximum can be connected on the same plant (ref. to
Paragraph 1.2 on page 7).
Features of CAN-BUS cable are described below and specified in the relevant
Table 8.
Nodes can be final and intermediate.
A DDC and a RB100 can be located on any position of CAN BUS network: DDC
and appliance can be indifferently located as final or intermediate nodes.
Final nodes are appliances or DDCs connected with one single element.
Intermediate nodes are appliances or DDCs connected with two more elements.
