-
Thread the pulley block and S-hook on the lanyard and
belay the cord - Figs. 312 and 313.
-
Note:
if you intend sailing the boat we recommend that you
install the relieving ropes 33.23 to prevent the sheets
snagging on the superstructure. The first pair of cords
should run from the forward lower mainmast shroud to the
rear split pin on the forward handrail. The third cord should
be tensioned across the foreship and attached to the upper
split pins 13.6. Check that the relieving rope runs under the
sheets.
-
Tension the fourth relieving rope from the lugs 14.9 on the
anchor beam to the belaying ring on the schooner mast.

-
Drill out the anchor 34.1 at the marked point to 2.5 mm Ø.
-
Angle one end of the anchor stock 34.2 as shown and sol-
der the ball 34.3 to the angled end. Cut off the excess
material.
-
Fit the anchor stock through the hole in the anchor and sol-
der the eyelet 34.4 in the centre - Figs. 314 and 315.
-
The anchor can now be painted matt black.
-
Run the anchor chain over the winch capstan head 10.20
and through the hawse hole in the bulwark. Adjust the
length so that it reaches the end of the anchor beam with
plenty of slack.
-
Tie the anchor to the chain using thread. Tie an anchor
halyard 34.5 to the same anchor ring, and thread it through
the rivet 14.8 in the anchor beam from the underside.
-
Raise the anchor and belay the halyard to the screws
14.15 (Fig. 176). Glue the cleats 34.6 to both sides of the
bulwark stanchion 13.2 where indicated in Fig. 176.
-
Tie the second anchor halyard to the anchor flukes and
belay the halyard to the cleat - Fig. 316 (right-hand
anchor).
-
Alternatively the anchor can be secured with the anchor
stock folded back, as shown in Fig. 317 (left-hand anchor).
