Important:

 The following symptom is the same as the one announced in RTB RB051007a 

(Model U-C1). However, if the development unit is not installed correctly in the field, the 
production line solution in RTB RB051007a cannot prevent the symptom. Therefore at 
machine installation, make sure to do the check in the “Solution” below. 
 

SYMPTOM 

A blank area (

sample 1

) or blank patches (

sample 2

) may appear on the side edges of 

the paper. 

Note:

 Also, because of this problem, the ID sensor pattern on the OPC is blank. If the 

machine reads this, it can change the process control conditions. 

CAUSE 

The gears of the development unit do not engage the mainframe gears correctly. 

Note:

 This can occur at toner cartridge replacement, when the old toner cartridge is not 

pulled out correctly.
