Chapter 5. Diagnostic Mode and
Troubleshooting
This section describes how to use Diagnostic mode for troubleshooting. Use
Diagnostic mode to:
•
View product information, including serial numbers and versions of
software and hardware.
•
View and adjust system settings, including language, time since last
service, date and time.
•
View and adjust preferences, including units of pressure, alarm
volume, contrast, brightness, reverse video and screen lock.
•
View the significant event log.
•
View real-time sensor readings and status of specific controls.
•
Activate and confirm audible, visual, and remote alarms.
•
Activate specific controls to test circuits.
5.1 Entering
Diagnostic Mode
To enter Diagnostic mode:
1. Press the
STANDBY
key, then simultaneously press the
Alarm/Reset
and
Alarm/Silence
keys on the ventilator front panel at power up for
15 seconds or until Diagnostic mode appears on the screen.
2. At the warning prompt (Figure 5-1), press
OK
to start Diagnostic
mode. The Diagnostic mode main menu (Figure 5-2) appears.
WARNING:
Diagnostic mode suspends normal ventilation: disconnect the patient from
the ventilator before entering Diagnostic mode.
WARNING:
Troubleshooting and repair must be performed only by qualified service
personnel.
