Chapter 8. Component Removal/Installation

This chapter describes how to remove and install replaceable ventilator
components.

WARNING:

To avoid personal injury, always disconnect external AC and DC power
sources from the ventilator before servicing or cleaning.

CAUTION:

Electronic components used in this device are subject to damage from
static electricity. Perform repairs only in an antistatic, electrostatic
discharge (ESD)-protected environment.

NOTE:

Always retrieve and save the DRPT if possible

before

replacing parts.

Removing the user interface PCB deletes the serial number, significant
event log entries, and ventilator preference settings. Review the
significant event log before removing the user interface PCB.

NOTE:

To avoid damaging the controller PCB pressure transducers, carefully
remove tubing to avoid pulling on the sensors.

NOTE:

When reconnecting the tubing to the controller PCB sensors, ensure that
the tubing fits tightly. If the tubing has become loose, clip a short length
(2 mm) from the end of the tubing to ensure a snug fit.
