Coverage Mode:
This setting allows the operator to switch between two
coverage modes:
o
High Density:
All beams are formed and compressed as needed into
the given coverage sector providing increased sounding density.
o
Reduced Beams:
Only the number of beams necessary to populate
the given coverage sector are formed.
Variable swath is available in all beam modes (equidistant or equiangular) and may be
used in conjunction with roll stabilization (see
section 4.2.6 Motion
).
For examples on how to use this setting, see
section 6.2.5 Variable Swath
5.7.2 Detection Settings
The Detection Settings tab allows the operator to apply range and/or depth filters (depth
gates) to the bottom detection process to aid in noise reduction and to correct for a tilted
sonar head. Gate lines (filter lines) can be optionally displayed on the sonar image. For
details, see
section 5.7.4 below
A yellow highlight of text fields and check boxes indicates that the data was changed
since last update and has not yet been applied. The color of the Update button indicates
if data is stored locally by the UI or sent directly to the center:
Red:
Data is stored locally and gates are inactive
Green:
Data is sent to center and gates are active

For examples on how to use this setting, see
section 6.2.7 Use of Gates
5.7.2.1 Gate Control Switch
There are three gate modes:
