INTRODUCTION
1.1 System Overview
The SeaBat 7125 ROV (for Remotely Operated Vehicle) is a high-resolution multibeam
sonar system that measures relative water depths over a 128° (or 140°
1
) wide swath
perpendicular to the vessel's track.
The SeaBat 7125 ROV is designed for installation on a remotely operated vehicle for
deep-water use and operates as a single-frequency system at 400kHz. The addition of a
second projector operating at 200kHz allows the system to operate as a dual-frequency
system providing long-range functionality with the 200kHz unit and high-resolution
functionality with the 400kHz unit.

1.2 System Architecture
The SeaBat 7125 ROV multibeam sonar system consists of a sonar processing unit, the
7125 processor, a link control unit (LCU), a receiver unit, and a projector unit (or two
projector units). A 25 meter cable connects the processor with the LCU, and 3 meter
cables connect the receiver and projector units to the LCU. User displays and system
control originate within the processor.
