Message Transmission Protocol
Byte 0: bit 0/1: priority level (0-3, 3 has the highest priority)
bit 2-4: unused (set to 0)
bit 5-7: message counter. The counter reading should
increase by one with every message.
Byte 1/2: length of the message in bytes (byte 3 – byte n, LSB first)
Byte 3: first byte of the message
Byte n: last byte of the message
Byte n+1: CR (carriage return). This byte is only sent when
Terminate
CR
is switched
ON
.
Example 4:
Data sent: 0x02 0x03 0x00 0x12 0x34 0x56
The message has the priority level 2 and is (0x12 0x34 0x56) 3 bytes long.
Note: The maximum length of any message is 1024 bytes less the command bytes. The reason for
this lies in the size of the internal buffers.
