3 First Steps
Switch on
5. Switch on the data management system and the front-end.
6. To switch on the front-end, turn the key switch on the front of the front-end
to position

The sensor head and the controller switch on with the front-end as the
mains cable of the front-end is plugged into the master socket, the
mains cable of the controller into the slave socket.
If the controller does not automatically switch on, refer to S
for troubleshooting.

7. Start the PSV software in
Acquisition
mode.
8. If you are using the 20x microscope objective, select the
20x
magnification factor from the
Objective
list in the scanning head control.
Otherwise adapt your selection as appropriate.
CAUTION!
Damage to the SAW filter caused by excessive voltage!
» Do not connect the BNC cable of the SAW filter yet. Otherwise, the input
voltage might be too high and thus damage the SAW filter.
9. Align the SAW filter so that the center of the SAW filter is displayed in the
video image (refer to the following figure).

10. Focus the live video image until the SAW filter is sharp and clearly visible.
11. Correct the tilt of the object so that the laser beam hits the SAW filter at a
right angle.
The SAW filter should be in focus across the entire the video image.
