Objective Adapter/Objective Turret
ATTENTION!
Damage to objective positioner by using the wrong objective mount!
Due to their design, the A-IOB-005X-B, A-IOB-02X5-B and A-IOB-004X-LD-B
Michelson Interference Objectives have a larger parfocal length and mass
than the Mirau interference objectives or the bright-field objectives. If you are
using the Michelson Interference Objectives together with the objective
positioner on the objective turret, the objective positioner can be damaged
when you rotate the objective turret.
» Use the objective adapter instead of the objective turret for the Michelson
Interference Objectives.
Both the objective adapter and the objective turret are connected to the
sensor head using a dovetail connector. To do so, proceed as follows (refer
1. Either insert the objective adapter [A] or the objective turret [B] into the
dovetail guide on the sensor head until its stop.
If you do not push the objective turret all the way to the stop into the
dovetail guide, error messages may appear in the software because the
position is not correctly recognized. Always keep all component clean to
avoid malfunctions.
2. At the side on the bottom of the sensor head you will find a clamping
screw. Slightly tighten the clamping screw with the Allen key size 2.5 to
clamp the inserted objective adapter or objective turret onto the sensor
head.
ATTENTION!
Damage to the clamp caused by overtightening!
Overtightening the clamping screw can damage the internal spring and thus
the clamping mechanism so that the objective adapter or objective turret can
no longer be clamped on.
» Tighten the clamping screw only lightly.
» Check whether the objective adapter or the objective turret is securely
clamped.
