Connecting the Signals
INFORMATION
Use the ZFDC-20-33-S+ directional coupler in order to use the BWX2 option,
otherwise use the ZFDC-20-5-S+ directional coupler. You will find further
specifications on the signal generator as well as the directional couplers in the
respective manufacturer’s documentation.
Reference
signal
1. Connect the reference signal to the
REF
N-type socket on the front of the
front-end using the N-SMA adapter.
As an alternative, use the N-BNC adapter to connect the reference signal
to the
REF
N-type socket on the front of the front-end.
ATTENTION!
Damage to the measurement system caused by excessive voltages!
If the amplitude of the reference signal is greater than the permissible input
amplitude of the
REF
signal input, the measurement system may be
damaged.
» Use the attenuator to connect the reference signal.
» The amplitude of the attenuated signal must be within the specifications of
the signal input. You will find the technical specifications of the
REF
signal
input in S
Trigger signals
2. If required, connect the external trigger signal to the
TRIG IN
BNC jack on
the front of the front-end.
3. If required, connect the trigger signal of the axis controller to the
TRIG AF
BNC jack on the back of the front-end and into the
TRIGGER TTL
SMB jack
on the back of the axis controller (refer to separate operating instructions).
Function
generator (only
MSA-600-X)
4. The function generator signal is available at the
SIGNAL
BNC jack on the
front of the front-end.
5. The synchronization pulse of the generator signal is available at the
SYNC
BNC jack on the front of the front-end.
Function
generator (only
MSA-600-U)
6. The function generator signal is available at the
RF 50
Ω
SMA jack on the
front of the optional A-ESG-002 Signal Generator.
Special
applications
7. For special applications, you can use the
AUX IN
TTL input or the
AUX OUT
TTL output. You can program both via the Visual Basic Engine.
