3 First Steps
3.4.4
Connecting the Mains Cables
Connect all mains cables of the measurement system to the same earthed
wall outlet to avoid ground loops. Proceed as follows:
1. Connect the mains cable of the front-end to the master socket of the
master-slave socket.
2. Connect the mains cable of the controller to the slave socket of the
master-slave socket.
3. Connect the mains cable of the master-slave socket to the multiple socket
of the system cabinet.
4. Connect the mains cable of the industrial PC and the TFT monitor to the
multiple socket in the system cabinet.
5. If you operate your system with the axis controller, connect the mains
cable of the axis controller to the multiple socket in the system cabinet.
6. Connect the multiple socket with the mains cable to an earthed wall outlet.
3.5
Functional Test
INFORMATION
Read the information on laser safety before working with laser radiation.
The implementation of a first functional test is described in the following. If the
instrument does not perform as described, read through the information on
troubleshooting in these operating instructions and if required, contact your
local Polytec representative.
3.5.1
Out-of-Plane Vibrations
To test an out-of-plane vibration with your measurement system, use the
UHF-A-SAW SAW Filter. The SAW filter allows you to perform reproducible
test measurements on a typical object. The filter works in the 113 … 117 MHz
frequency range and can be excited with individual frequencies as well as
broadband.
INFORMATION
For further information, refer to your PSV software manual.
Prerequisites
1. Mount the system as described in S
objective for the measurement.
2. Connect up the system as described in S
Assembly
3. Screw the mounting plate [D] onto the tip-tilt unit [C] using the three
screws [B].
4. Screw the SAW filter [E] onto the mounting plate [D] using the four
screws [A].
