Safety advice
TIP
This operating manual contains this symbol at all points
relating to the safety of
persons.
1. In general
a. Along with the information in this operator’s manual,
observe the general prevailing safety and professional
association regulations (only Germany).
b. The affixed warning and precautionary signs provide
important information for safe working: Your observation
serves as your safeguard!
c. Observe all applicable legal requirements when using
public thoroughfares!
d. Before starting work familiarise yourself with all of the
equipment and operating elements as well as their
function!
e. Clothing worn by the user should be close fitting. Avoid
loose fitting clothing!
f. Travelling on the machine during operation and during
transportation is not permitted!
g. Couple up the machine as instructed, and attach and
secure it only to the stipulated fixtures!
h. Place support devices in the relevant positions when
attaching and dismantling!
(Stability!). Extra caution is needed when coupling to,
or uncoupling from, a tractor!
i. Always place ballast on the anchorage points provided
as directed!
j. Observe permissible transportation measurements!
k. Check and attach transportation equipment like lighting,
warning signs and safety equipment!
l. In all transport and working positions, operational
equipment (ropes, chains, linkages, etc.) and remote
operated equipment must be positioned so that
unintentional movement cannot occur!
m. For road transportation, ensure machine is in the
prescribed condition and secured according to the
manufacturer’s instructions!
n. When travelling, never leave the driver’s seat!
o. Always adapt the speed driven to the surrounding
conditions! Avoid sudden curves when driving on hills
or slopes, or in valleys!
p. Handling, steering and braking abilities are influenced by
any attached or coupled machinery or ballast! Therefore
ensure there is sufficient steering and braking power!
q. When travelling in curves, take into account the
machine’s width and centrifugal mass!
r. Only operate machine when all safety devices have
been attached and are in place!
s. Being in the working area and danger area is forbidden!
t. Do not stay in the turning or swivelling area of the
machine!
u. Crushing and cutting points are found on externally
operating parts (e.g. hydraulics)!
v. Secure the machine before leaving the tractor!
w. Lower attached machinery completely! Turn motor off
and remove ignition key!
x. Nobody is to be between the tractor and machine unless
the tractor has been secured against rolling using the
parking brake and/or wheel chocks!
2. Attached machinery
Before attaching the machine to, or unattaching the
machine from, the 3-point hitch:
a. Move operating device to the position where there is
no chance of unintentional lifting and lowering!
b. With 3-point hitching, the attaching categories of
tractor and machine must correspond or be made to
correspond!
c. Danger of injury through crushing and cutting exists in
the 3-point linkage area!
d. When using the external control for the 3-point hitch,
do not step between the tractor and the machine!
e. In the transport position, always ensure there is sufficient
lateral restraint on the tractor’s 3-point linkage!
f. During road transport with the machine raised, the
operating lever must be secured against lowering the
machine!
3. Hitched machinery
a. Secure machine against rolling!
b. Be aware of the maximum bearing load for the trailer
coupling, swinging drawbar or hitch!
c. When attaching the drawbar, ensure there is sufficient
moveability at coupling point!
4. P.T.O. operation
a. Only use the cardan shaft stipulated by the
manufacturer!
b. Protective tube and protective funnel for cardan shaft
as well as p.t.o. safeguard must be installed and be in
orderly condition!
c. Be aware of the tube covering required for cardan
shafts in the transport and working positions!
d. Attach/unattach cardan shaft only when p.t.o. and
motor are turned off, and ignition key is removed!
e. If using cardan shafts with overload or overrunning
clutches that are not covered by the safeguards on
the tractor, then the overload or overrunning clutches
must be fitted to the machine!
f. Always ensure cardan shaft is correctly fitted and
properly secured!
g. Secure cardan shaft safeguard against rotating using
the chain!
h. Before turning p.t.o. on, ensure the selected r.p.m and
direction of rotation for the tractor’s p.t.o. corresponds
with the permissible r.p.m. and direction of rotation for
the machine!
i. Before turning the p.t.o. on, ensure that nobody is in
