8.3 power amplifier EVD50, EVD125, EVD300
8.3.1 function
The piezo amplifiers EVDxxx are designed for low voltage piezo elements. It is integrated into a
19” housing with a width equivalent to 10 units (EVD50) or 20 units (EVD125, EVD300). It varies in
output current. You can use actuators with or without an integrated measurement system (series
D). It is possible to control the amplifier with an analog signal via the modulation input or digitally
via CAN-Bus. The best results for resolution and accuracy can only be achieved by setting the
digital target values. Because of the very low noise (lower than 0.5mV
RMS
), the
d-Drive®
is
particularly suitable for nanopositioning. The position of the actuator and all status messages are
shown on the EDS2 display. If there is an EDS1 without display included, you can check the status
with the command “stat
Enter
” by using a terminal program via RS232.
The new integrated digital PID
–controller allows positioning of actuators which include
measurement systems to eliminate drift and hysteresis. The modular construction allows a quick
and easy exchange of modules and makes the system ideal for industrial purposes.
