8.4 interface EDS1, EDS2
8.4.1 function EDS2
The EDS2 data interface enables communication between the user and the piezo drive. It displays
status messages, as well as recent values of the system, on a graphic TFT-display. Specific
parameters can be adjusted using the controls on the EDS2. As opposed to the EDS2, the EDS1
only offers a serial interface. It has no display or controls. All adjustments have to be done by using
a PC or laptop running the terminal program. The command set is the same that is used in EDS2.
For full control and comfortable adjustment we recommend using a PC or laptop running the
control program. The full command set is explained in chapter
titled “commands”.
The POWER button switches the device on. By pressing the button for longer than 2 seconds the
device gets switched off. The PC interface enables communication between the EDS and the PC
or laptop. The cursor buttons navigate through the submenus. By pressing the
Enter
button one
can jump into the pertaining menu. In the input settings menu, the value can be changed by using
the knob. The star (*) before the value indicates that the value was changed. By pressing the
turning knob, the value is accepted. If you leave the menu without pressing the knob, the old value
will be restored.
