What is a Panther?
Panther is the name for Clarity’s model number PN-6730-UXP or PN-6740-UXP, the
67" displays designed specifically for stand-alone operation.
What is the difference between
PN-6740-UXP and
PN-6730-UXP?
PN-6740-UXP has audio capabilities with built-in speakers.
PN-6730-UXP does not have audio.
How much does a Panther
weigh?
Approximately 350 lbs (160 kg)
The Panther is not designed for lifting. Don’t lift it; roll it.
What is the operating tempera-
ture range?
0° to 35°C (32° to 95° F). The ambient air temperature, that is, the temperature of the
incoming air, must be in this range.
What kinds of inputs does the
Panther accept?
Computer: see table, opposite
Video: NTSC, PAL, SECAM in either composite or S-Video.
Digital Computer: DVI at the Computer resolutions noted above. (See facing page for
a full list of acceptable resolutions and formats.)
What options are available for
the Panther?
There are two models: PN-6730-UXP, which does not have audio,
and PN-6740-UXP, which has audio. Beyond that, there are no options.
What is the difference between
the Panther UXP and the earlier
model called Panther UX?
The Panther UXP has two lamps instead of four, and it uses a redesigned illumination
system that produces higher, more uniform brightness and color. In this manual,
the word “Panther” always means Panther UXP.
How much power does a Pan-
ther use?
It depends on whether you use two lamps or one. For 2 lamps, power consumed is
about 690 W. See “Specifications” on page 154 for a complete details.
How many lamps does it use?
The Panther has two lamps, but you can use only one.
What is the aspect ratio of the
screen, Width:Height?
4:3, or 1.33, the same as standard television or computer screens.
Can the Panther be serviced
from the front?
No, because the screen cannot be removed. All servicing is performed from the rear.
How much space do I have to
leave behind the Panther for ven-
tilation?
At least 8 inches (20 cm) for air flow.
