Using B’s CLiP5
For basic operations, refer to the Quick Guide beginning on page 104. For details and troubleshooting,
refer to the online manual.
B’s CLiP5 will be active once the OS is booted, enabling you to use CD-RW and DVD-RW in the same
way as you would a floppy disc drive. You can carry out the basic operations of saving and erasing files
and folders in the same way as with FDD and MO.
Pay attention to the following when making music CDs or data CDs as there are differences to pre-
mastering software.
Format
In order to use B’s CLiP5 to write to a disc, the disc must first be formatted in the same way as with FDD
and MO.
Reading from disc
If using CD-RW and DVD-RW, reading can be carried out by installing B’s CLiP5 dedicated reader
software.
Erasing the disc
To use a CD-RW or DVD-RW formatted using B’s CLiP5 with a pre-mastering software program, it is
necessary to first erase the disc.
Ejecting the disc
Some mounted discs (formatted discs that have been placed in the drive) may not be ejected when you
press the eject button on the drive. Use B’s CLiP5 to eject disc whenever possible.
Limits
When using Windows 98/Me, files over 2 GB may not be able to be copied.
When using Windows 2000/XP, there is no file size limit.
