7.5 Precautions for Zeroing with Coriolis Flowmeter’s EL2310 (Link Top)
7.5.1. Applicable Transmitters for EL2310 (LinkTop)
CT9401 and ST9801
7.5.2 Precautionary Notes on Zeroing with Link Top
(1)You cannot zero the meter using the Link Top unless either analog output 1 or 2 is assigned to flow
metering. In this case, you can zero the meter with the zeroing button on the front panel or with a
status input (Auto Zero set up with a status input).
(2)Failure to set up the flowrate (mass or volume flowrate) for analog output 1 or 2 results in the
following behavior:
An attempt to zero with the Link Top brings up a message like the one shown in Fig. 7.2, indicating
that zeroing remains inhibited.
CAUTION: While zeroing is in progress, a message “ZEro Adj” appears for 30 seconds or
so.
Normally, it takes about 30 seconds to complete the zeroing process. If zeroing proves to be a failure,
an error message “Err-51” will appear on the LCD. For details, see Sec. “8.1.1 Error Messages” (page
41).
An erratic condition in the zeroing process tells you either the process fluid in the sensor body is not
completely at zero flow, or the sensor is not completely filled with the process fluid. Following removal
of the problem, taking the zeroing procedure once again will clear the erratic condition.
CAUTION: (1) Zeroing should be performed when the process fluid has settled down to a
steady state at its operating temperature.
(2) Re-zeroing is required in cases where
1. Process fluid temperature exceeds
±10°C of the temperature at zeroing.
2. The fluid is replaced by another.
3. Process fluid density varies beyond ±0.2g/mL.
