Example 2:
After opening the amputee relaxes the muscle at maximum speed. The Hand
closes at maximum speed und begins to grasp the object with 10 N. If the
Sensor senses a change in position, it automatically readjusts – if necessary –
up to the maximum grip force (100 N).

9.4.1 Control with 1 linear transducer
Open:
proportional. Opening speed is determined by speed and force of pull on linear
transducer.
Close:
proportional. Closing speed is determined by release speed of pull on linear
transducer. This also determines the level of the maximal grip force increase.
Stop:
very slow pull release on linear transducer. Hand remains in opened position.
Example 1:
After opening the amputee slowly releases pull on linear transducer.
Closing takes place analog to time of muscle relaxation with slow speed.
The object is grasped with low force (10 N). There is no automatic grip force
increase.
Example 2:
After opening the amputee releases the pull on the linear transducer at highest
possible speed. The hand closes with highest possible speed and starts to
grasp an object with 10 N grip force. If the Sensor senses a change in postion,
it automatically readjusts – if necessary – up to maximum grip force (100 N).
