SensorHand Speed

9.3 Program 3:
AutoControl
Green coding plug
Control with 1 electrode, 1 linear transducer,
or 1 switch
The Hand closes at maximal speed and grips an object with lowest grip force (10 N).
If the sensor senses a change in position it automatically causes the grip to continuously in-
crease up to the grip force necessary (max. 10 N). FlexiGrip becomes effective at 130 N. Once
the grasp is secure the SensorHand Speed reverts to the initial grip force.
9.3.1 Control with 1 electrode:
Open:
at maximum speed with a quick, constant muscle signal to the electrode.
Close:
at maximum speed by quick relaxation of muscle
Stop:
by very slow muscle relaxation
to the electrode; Hand stops in an opened
position.
Example 1:
After opening the Hand the amputee relaxes the muscle very slowly. The opening
position remains unchanged.
Example 2:
After opening the Hand the amputee relaxes the muscle at the highest speed.
The Hand closes automatically at maximum speed and begins to grip the object
with 10 N grip force.
If the sensor senses a change in the position of the object, the Hand – if
necessary – will automatically readjust up to the maximum grip force (100 N).

9.3.2 Control with 1 linear transducer:
Open:
at maximum speed by fast pull on linear transducer
Close:
at maximum speed by fast release on linear transducer
Stop:
by very slow release on linear transducer. Hand stops in an open position.
Example 1:
After opening the amputee very slowly releases pull on linear transducer.
The opening position remains unchanged.
Example 2:
After opening the amputee release pull on linear transducer with highest
possible speed.
The hand automatically closes with highest speed and starts to grasp object
with 10 N grip force.
If the sensor senses a change in the position of the object, the Hand – if nec-
esary – will automatically readjust up to the maximum grip force (100 N).
