Modbus General Settings
Modbus Server Enable
For the station to become a Modbus server over one of the ports, the appropriate setting must be
enabled.
Once Modbus Server Enable is turned on any port, LinkComm will no longer be able to access the station
over that port. Once enabled, the setting may only be turned off over a different communications port.
Here are options that are always available:
LinkComm connecting via USB and Wi-Fi
Send a setup file via Modbus
Change setup using USB thumb drive
Sending a text message to the station. The text message should say
MODBUS CELL SLAVE
ENABLE = OFF
Modbus Protocol
The Protocol setting affects both Modbus client and Modbus server on RS-485 and RS-232. Modbus over
RS-485 and RS-232 allows RTU and ASCII protocols. RTU is the default value. Cell only supports the TCP/IP
protocol.
Modbus supports different protocols:
RTU (usable on RS-232 and RS-485)
