7 Adjusting Settings
Carb presets
Carbs presets are used to store the carbohydrate content of snacks or meals that
you eat often. You can quickly select a carb preset when the Bolus Calculator asks
how many carbs you are about to eat. You can create up to 36 carb presets.
Create a new carb preset
To save a frequently eaten food as a carb preset:
1.
Home
>
Settings > Presets > Carb presets
2. Choose either
Favorites
,
Snacks
or
Meals
as the category for this carb preset,
then press
Select
.
3. Choose
[add new]
and press
New
.
4. Enter a unique name to help you recognize this carb preset in the future (see
"Entering text" on page 6), and press
Next
.
Alternatively, you can choose to use the default name by pressing
Next
.
5. Enter the grams of carbohydrates in the food, then press
Next
.
6. The next step is to, optionally, specify the grams of fiber in the meal. Consult
with your healthcare provider about whether or not to enter the fiber
information.
Note:
If you enter the grams of fiber into your carb preset, the Bolus
Calculator subtracts the grams of fiber from the grams of carbohydrates.
Alternately, in step 5 above, you can enter the total grams of carbs minus the
fiber yourself.
7. Press
Next

8. If you want, you can enter the grams of fat and protein and the total calories
in the meal. Press
Next
after each entry. Entering these additional numbers is
optional. The Bolus Calculator does not use them.
9. Press
Save
to add the new carb preset to the selected category.
Change the category for a carb preset
1.
Home

Settings > Presets > Carb presets
2. Choose the category that contains the carb preset you want to change, then
press
Select
.
3. Highlight the carb preset that you want to move, then press
Tag
.
4. Choose the new category, then press
Select
.
