9 Alarms, Notifications, and Other Messages
Silencing an Alarm
Pod alarm : If you respond to a Pod alarm but the PDM cannot shut off the alarm,
the Pod alarm continues. To permanently silence a Pod alarm:
1. Remove the Pod from your body.
2. Peel back a little bit of the adhesive pad
from the bottom of the Pod at the square
end (see figure).
3. Locate the alarm shut-off port to the
right of the gold circle. The alarm shut-
off port can be felt with a fingernail or
paper clip as a soft plastic.
4. Firmly press a paper clip or similar item
straight down into the alarm shut-off
port until the alarm stops.
Note: Press down firmly
. The paper
clip may go in a little bit and then stop.
You must continue pressing down, very
hard, until the alarm stops. You need to apply enough force to break a thin
layer of plastic.
PDM alarm : If you cannot turn off a PDM alarm using the PDM's soft keys, you
can silence the PDM alarm as follows:
1. Turn the PDM over and remove the door
of the battery compartment.
2. Leaving the batteries in place, locate the
small alarm reset hole, surrounded by
green, in the cutout below the batteries.
3. Gently press a paper clip or similar item
into the hole to stop the alarm.
Note: Press down gently.
You are pressing
a small button; you are not trying to break
anything.
This action silences the PDM's alarm. Your
history records and personal settings are preserved.
