Troubleshooting
5
+
Unplug the outer electrode.
+
Unscrew and remove the capillary (see
www.cellcounting.de
)
.
+
Put the capillary in a small beaker (50 to 100 ml) and add about 10 ml of CASY clean.
+
Put the beaker into an ultrasonic cleaning bath for about 15 seconds.
+
Replace the CASY clean in the beaker by distilled water and repeat the ultrasonic cleaning step.
+
Re-assemble the capillary and take care that the small tube is re-inserted into the capillary with-
out kinking it (see
www.cellcounting.de
).
+
Plug in the outer electrode again.
+
Place a cup with CASY ton under the capillary and run three consecutive cleaning cycles.
+
Check if the blockage is gone.
+
If not, unscrew and remove the capillary again and put it into a beaker with 10 ml of CASY clean
over night.
+
Repeat the steps mentioned above starting with the ultrasonification step in CASY clean.

service by an OLS service technician.
7.5 Message “Large Air Bubble detected”
During regular use weekly cleaning procedures with CASY clean are recommended to avoid prob-
lems with air bubbles (see section
Maintenance and Care
).
If the message “Large Air Bubble detected” is displayed often try the following procedure, checking
after each step if the problem is resolved:
1
Run three consecutive cleaning cycles with CASY ton to get rid of air bubbles
2
Avoid running a cleaning cycle after each measurement. The cleaning process is designed to get rid
of contaminations in the internal fluid system and, therefore, uses intense high pressure and low
pressure. This may sometimes cause air bubbles to appear in the next measurement.
+
When running a series of measurements with the same cell type in a narrow concentration range,
measure sample by sample without carrying out any cleaning in between. If desired shortly place
a CASY cup containing filtered CASY ton under the capillary to get rid of the cells/particles on the
surface of the capillary or the outer electrode.
+
In case of samples where huge differences in cell concentration are expected, or when changing
from one cell type to another one, place a new CASY cup containing filtered CASY ton under the
capillary and trigger a clean cycle.
