SOLUTION
COVER OPEN
Close the lid of the operator console.
REMOVE DOCUMENT
Remove the document and replace it correctly in the feed
slot.
NO INK LEFT
With a disposable print head, replace the print head. If the
print head has an interchangeable print cartridge, replace
the cartridge. If the message persists, replace the print
head (see the "MAINTENANCE" chapter).
CHECK PAPER
Add paper to the cassette and check the position of the
paper positioning lever.
PRINT HEAD MISSING
Insert the print cartridge. If the message appears even
when the cartridge is present in the facsimile machine, it
has probably been inserted incorrectly. In this case, remove
and reinsert the cartridge.
If the message persists, clean the electrical contacts (see
the “Cleaning the electrical contacts” section of the
“MAINTENANCE” chapter.
PRINT HEAD NEW?
This message appears on the display after the disposable

print cartridge has been inserted. If the cartridge is new,
select YES by pressing CONFIRM; if it is not, select NO by
pressing CLEAR.
WARNING: If you select YES and the cartridge is not new,
the no ink left status will not be detected.
CHECK CARTRIDGE NOZZLES
Follow the print head nozzle purging procedure.
Should faults be found, act according to the diagnostic
result printed (see the “Checking the print head nozzles”
section of the “MAINTENANCE” chapter). If the message
persists, replace the print cartridge.
OPERATION INTERRUPTED
This message appears on the display for a few seconds
when you interrupt a procedure in progress.
DOCUMENT NOT PRESENT
Insert the document in the ADF.
DIAGNOSTIC ACTIVE
When powered on, the facsimile machine runs a short test
on its components and then gets ready for operation.
At the end of the procedure, check that the facsimile
machine is in stand-by.
OVERHEATING WAIT
After a long period of continual operation, the facsimile
machine could overheat. In this case, avoid performing
operations that require use of the optical reader for about
30 minutes. After a short time, the facsimile will be able to
continue printing and conclude any suspended activities.
