Inverter swimming pool heat pump
GB
Important information
This heat pump contains the flammable refrigerant R32.
Any intervention on the refrigerant circuit is only allowed to be carried out by qualified specialists
and is prohibited for people without valid certificate of competence.
Before working on the refrigerant circuit, the following precautions are necessary to ensure safe working:
1. Work procedure
Work must be carried out according to a defined procedure in order to minimise the risk of leaking flammable gases or
vapours.
2. General work area
All persons being in the surrounding area of the workplace have to be informed about the nature of the work in progress.
Flame and heat sources in the vicinity are to be avoided. It is not permitted to work on the heat pump in confined spaces.
The area around the workplace must be closed off and secured.
3. Verification of leaking refrigerant in the vicinity
The area around the heat pump has to be checked with a suitable refrigerant detector before and during work to ensure
that there is no leaking of potentially flammable gas. Make sure that the leak detection equipment used is suitable for
flammable refrigerants.
This means: it does not produce any sparks, is properly sealed and approved for the detection of refrigerant gases.
4. Fire extinguisher
When working on the heat pump or any associated part, appropriate fire extinguishing equipment must be available.
Dry-powder or CO
2
extinguishers are suitable.
5. No open flame, heat source or sparks
It is not allowed for heat sources or ignition sources to be located in the direct vicinity of systems and pipes containing
a flammable refrigerant. Before starting work, the direct surrounding has to be inspected for this.
It is absolutely forbidden to smoke in the vicinity during works on systems with flammable refrigerants. For safety reasons,
“No Smoking“ signs must be posted.
6. Ventilation of the work area
Make sure that the work area is properly ventilated.
7. Inspection of the heat pump
If components are replaced, they must be suitable for the intended purpose and the relevant specifications.
Only original spare parts of the manufacturer are to be used. If in doubt, please contact OEG.
Systems with flammable refrigerants have to be checked in regular intervals for the following points:
• Ventilation and air vents work properly and are not obstructed
• If an indirect refrigeration circuit is used, the secondary circuit must also be checked
• The markings on the equipment are visible and readable. Illegible marks and signs must be replaced
• Leak tests must be made subject to the quantity of refrigerant.
8. Inspection of electrical components
The repair and maintenance of electrical components must include safety and components tests before commissioning
the heat pump. If there are any defective components that could compromise safety, this component must not be installed
or taken into operation.
These preceding safety checks must include:
• Capacitors must be discharged in a safe way. Avoid flying sparks
• No electrical components or wiring are exposed during the filling, draining or flushing procedure
of the refrigerant gas system
• All electrical systems must be earthed sufficiently.
