2 Preparation for Use
2-4 VarioLink 9522

1 ADF (Automatic Document Feed-
er) Automatically feeds multiple originals one at a time
to the original glass for copying.
2 Sub power switch Turns on/off copying and scanning functions when
pressed. Turning it off will terminate all the functions
other than printing, and then the machine will enter
the shut off mode.
3 Touch panel Displays interactive operation screens.
4 Control panel Used for various settings and machine operations
such as starting printing.
5 Bypass tray Used for printing onto paper of another size or type
than those loaded in main body trays. Up to 150
sheets (21 lb paper) can be loaded.
6 Tray 4 (Large Capacity Unit LU-
407/ LU-408) (option) Holds 4,500 sheets (LU-407)/ 4,000 sheets (LU-408)
of 21 lb paper.
7 Right side door Opens to allow removal of mishandled paper.
8 Tray 3 (universal tray) Holds 1,000 sheets of 21 lb paper. For details of pa-
per information, see page 3-3.
9 Tray 2 (universal tray) Holds 500 sheets of 21 lb paper. For details of paper
information, see page 3-3.
10 Tray 1 (universal tray) Holds 500 sheets of 21 lb paper. For details of paper
information, see page 3-3.
11 Front door Opens to allow toner supply or removal of mishan-
dled paper.
12 Left side door Opens to turn the main power switch on/off, or
opens together with front door to allow removal of
mishandled paper.
13 Z Folding Unit ZU-607 (option) Punches file holes and/or z-folds output copies.
14 Finisher FS-528/FS-611 (option) Sorts and/or staples copies into finished sets, and
FS-611 also folds or folds & staples copies into
booklet-styled sets.
With optional Punch Kit PK-505 installed, Punch
mode is also available.
15 Trimmer Unit TU-502 (option) Trims the end of booklet.
16 Post Inserter PI-506 (option) Used together with FS-528/FS-611, loads cover
sheet paper to feed it as cover, and enables to use
the finisher manually.
