SMC configurations
The SMC supports two types of configurations:
• Stand-alone
• High Availability (HA)
Stand-alone configuration
The stand-alone configuration contains a management network, intranet
network, and one or more security zones. Each of the Secure Multimedia
Zone (SMZ) networks requires a unique port on the SMC device and an IP
address.
The management network needs two IP addresses in the stand-alone
configuration. The first address is the host IP address, which is the IP address
for the SMC. The second IP address is the cluster Management IP (MIP)
