XT V 160 X-ray System
To adjust the filament height, follow these steps:
1. Set the filament height by removing the focus cup insert and adjusting the three (3) height
screws by equal amounts until the filament tip is just visible.
•
Turning the height screws anticlockwise lowers the filament with respect to the
aperture.
•
Turning the height screws clockwise raises the filament with respect to the aperture.
2. Replace the focus cup insert and check the height of the filament. If correct, re-tighten the
retaining grub screw.
3. Clean the focus cup using clean lint-free wipes to remove all traces of grease/polish.
Any contamination could cause arcing, which will prevent the X-ray
source operating in a stable manner at high voltages
4. Re-fit the focus cup in the source.
The height screws are split so that they are tight in their holes. Over
time they may become loose. In this case, remove them and carefully
insert a thin screwdriver into the split to increase the gap slightly.
Do not substitute alternative screws.
Replace the focus cup
Ensure that the filament is correctly centred and that you have
checked the filament height before replacing the focus cup.
To replace the focus cup, follow these steps:
1. Ensure that the focus cup is clean.
2. Align the focus cup pins with the holes in the mount.
